Tanya's Inc. committed to finding loving homes!

This is Vador. He is an 18 month old neutered male mantle marked Great Dane. He is a wonderful dog and I am searching for the best possible home for him. He is house trained and has already outgrown a lot of bad puppy habits like chewing etc. He does love to play with toys. He was near emaciated when he came to me. He has now filled out nicely and is still gaining. He weighs about 120lbs and is very large at 31 inches from his shoulders to the floor. He was given up by his first family for unknown reasons and his second family lost their home and could no longer afford to feed him nor could they take him with them when they moved. They were going to have him along with their 4 other dogs put to sleep at the shelter. A kind person took him in but he showed aggression towards her small dog and cat. This scared her so she contacted me. I have had him in my home with my 3 Great Danes, a small Pomeranian, and 2 cats. He does chase cats if they run. My cats don't run so he has never bothered them. He enjoys playing with the other dogs although he does show aggression on a first encounter. He does enjoy the company of children. My grandchildren lay on him, feed him, and play with him and he is great with them. True to the form of the Great Dane he is a couch potato and loves to lay his head in your lap as you watch tv. He still thinks that it is his job to walk you on the leash instead of you walking him but he learns very quickly so I think he will learn to do well on the leash. He does not enjoy dog parks as he feels threatened by so many other dogs in a neutral place. He has no food aggressions though he doesn't like to share toys.
